To mark Knife Crime Awareness Week (commencing 18 May 2026), we are hosting a Knife Crime Awareness Webinar specifically for parents and carers.

About the session:
This informative session is designed to support parents and carers in:
• Understanding what knife crime is
• Exploring the significant impact has on children, young people and their families and communities
• Identifying the types of weapons most commonly carried
• Exploring accessibility and how & where knives are being obtained from
• Emphasising the importance of early intervention, education and multi=agency safeguarding in preventing knife crime
The session will also provide an opportunity to ask questions and access further support.
We wanted to share the attached e-flyer with you about a free hockey session taking place during the May Half Term. We’ll also be running these throughout the Summer holidays – details to follow once dates are confirmed.
We have been running these sessions in partnership with Telford & Wrekin Council during the holidays to provide the opportunity for children to get active and to give hockey a go.
The 1.5hr session will be led by 2x Level 2 England Hockey Coaches.
This is open to complete beginners or those who may have played a bit at school and interested in doing more.
– Age / Year Group: 8 – 12 Years Old, Boys & Girls
(Years 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 & 8)
– Date: Thursday 28th May
– Time: 11am – 12.30pm (can arrive late and leave early if you can’t do full 1.5hrs)
– Location Telford & Wrekin Hockey Club, St George’s Sports & Rec Ground, TF2 9LU
