World Book Day
Dear parents/carers,
World Book Day 2024
This year, we will be celebrating World Book Day on Friday 8th March.
Dress-up day
To celebrate World Book Day and the fun of reading, Friday 8th March will be a fancy-dress day at school when we invite all pupils to come dressed as a well-known book/ story character.
Book token
World Book Day celebrates the joy and value of books and reading, especially for children. To help them on their reading journey, every child receives a £1 World Book Day Book Token that can either be exchanged for one of TEN special £1 World Book Day books at participating stores, or used to get £1 off any book costing £2.99 or more. You can find out more about the books at www.worldbookday.com/books.
Reading for pleasure
We are so pleased with the culture of reading for pleasure across our school. We are lucky to have access to the My-On library, which has thousands of e-books for children to enjoy both in school and at home. We also have a wide variety of books available in school for children to enjoy. Thank you for encouraging your child to read at home – it really makes a difference!
Many thanks,
Miss A. O’Shea
