Sports Afternoons

Following a further increase in cases locally we can no longer host parents on site for our Sports Day. We are sorry for this, but the safety of us all comes first. We were one of the only schools to even try and run this type of event, but it is no longer possible.

Children will still take part in sports day activities during their PE day. We will endeavour to post photos on SeeSaw.

We are awaiting for further government advice before we confirm the Y6 leavers event.

Year 6 will now also have an additional swimming session.

Our Motto is TEAM, and we can’t wait to have you back properly, but I am sure that you will understand why we have taken this difficult decision.

Year 2 visits

Year 2 Parent and child tour of Donnington Wood CE Junior School (Rescheduled)

Class 1 visits Tuesday 6th July 3:30- 4

Class 2 visits Wednesday 7th July 3:30- 4

Dear Y2 parents/carers,

We are inviting you and your child to have a brief tour of our school site on the above dates. Due to uncertainty about Covid rules, it will be a guided walk around the school with a brief chance to see our facilities and meet school staff.

Each tour will last approx. 10 minutes. You will need to follow our one-way system around and through the school buildings. Along the way, there will be opportunities to ask any questions. Staff will have to take small groups around at planned times starting from 3.30pm, so please be punctual and patient with these arrangements.

We are working with the Infant School to create our Year 3 classes for September and have a transfer meeting set up this week (we had hoped to complete by now, but this has been delayed due to isolation). We will let you know which class your child is in after this meeting with the Infant team. The new Year 3 teachers will be visiting the Infants next Tuesday to introduce themselves and meet the children in their Year 2 classrooms.

We have now set up SeeSaw (our on-line learning platform for classwork and homework) for all of Year 2 and have emailed parents their child’s unique password. Please download Seesaw onto any device and log on to see transition activities and introductory videos. Parents also have chance to view and respond to the activities. Please let us know if you have any problems accessing SeeSaw, as all pupils will be expected to use it in school and at home from September.

We look forward to welcoming you to our Donnington Wood Junior community,
