Dear Parents and Carers,
As temperatures continue to rise, we want to take this opportunity to remind all families of the very real dangers of open water swimming, particularly in the River Severn, Prioslee lakes and in Teagues Bridge.
While it may be tempting during hot weather to cool off near or in the river, all water carries serious hidden risks including strong undercurrents, sudden drops in-depth, cold-water shock, and fast-changing conditions. These hazards are present even on the warmest, calmest days, and are not always visible from the bank.
We are asking all students to stay away from the open water and any other unsupervised open water during this period of hot weather.
