Dear parents/carers,
World Book Day 2022
This year the International World Book Day is set for Thursday 3rd March 2022, however our school will be celebrating this occasion on Friday 4th March.
Dress-up day
To celebrate World Book Day and the fun of reading, Friday 4th March will be a fancy-dress day at school when we invite all pupils to come dressed as a well-known book/ story character. Our theme this year is Heroes and Villains.
Book token
World Book Day celebrates the joy and value of books and reading, especially for children. To help them on their reading journey, every child receives a £1 World Book Day Book Token that can either be exchanged for one of TEN special £1 World Book Day books at participating stores, or used to get £1 off any book costing £2.99 or more. You can find out more about the books at www.worldbookday.com/books.
Reading for pleasure
We are so pleased with the culture of reading for pleasure across our school. We are lucky to have access to the My-On library, which has thousands of e-books for children to enjoy both in school and at home. We also have a wide variety of books available in school for children to enjoy. Thank you for encouraging your child to read at home – it really makes a difference!
Many thanks,
Mr J Rawson
