3 ways to boost online safety for Safer Internet Day

We know you have limited face-to-face time these days, so helping your pupils to manage digital risks might feel like a challenge.

But with Safer Internet Day on the horizon, now is actually a great opportunity to reinforce all those crucial online safety messages. And with the Be Internet Legends team on your side, it doesn’t have to be so hard. Here are three ways to equip families with the tools they need to Be Internet Legends at home.

Send important safeguarding tips home

Most children are learning remotely right now – so they might not be able to access all the safeguarding protection that schools provide.

Our Family Lockdown Guide is designed for you to share with parents, so they can reinforce important messages at home.

It’s full of advice to help parents have the sort of conversations they need to be having right now – and encourage children to be brave and speak up if they’re unsure about anything they come across online.

You can either download everything as a zip and send it home – or point families towards the files on our hub.

Help families develop internet security routines

Keen to make sure your families are sticking to good internet security routines? We’re running a 20-minute parent drop-in about Being Internet Secure on Monday at 3.30pm.

Our experts will share tips about teaching children to build mega strong passwords – and develop helpful habits whenever they go online. It’s not a one-way street, though – we’d love to hear questions and ideas from parents.

Share in your Safer Internet Day comms
Until next time,

The Be Internet Legends team
