Ofsted Parent View

Ofsted have launched Parent View, a new online questionnaire that will allow parents and carers to give their views on their child’s school at any time of the year. Covering over 22,000 schools across England, the 12-question survey will help other parents as they make important choices about their child’s education and provide Ofsted with information about schools that will help inform priorities for inspection.

To fill it in for our school visit: http://www.parentview.ofsted.gov.uk/

Parent View has been produced with the assistance of a panel of parents who contributed to shaping the questions and the way the site functions. The questionnaire covers a range of topics, including quality of teaching, bullying, behaviour and levels of homework, allowing parents to give a view about their child’s school on each issue, with a final question as to whether or not they would recommend the school to other parents. The questionnaire does not allow free text comments but invites responses to a series of closed questions.

The questions were carefully chosen to cover those issues that parents told Ofsted are the most important to them. They are also designed to provide Ofsted with the information to support decisions about inspection and will give headteachers a direct route into gathering the views of their parent group.

E-Safety

At Donnington Wood E Safety, being safe on the internet, is incredibly important.

Today, for our assembly, we taught your children about being safe online.

We will be hosting a Parents Event soon, but if you have any queries then please visit https://www.thinkuknow.co.uk/parents/.

There is also the option to report any suspicious activity directly to the police. There is also a fun children’s area too.

If you have any other concerns please come in and discuss with me.

Thank you,

Mr Fox

Macmillian Coffee Afternoon!

We will be hosting a coffee afternoon on Friday 28th September. (more info in Woody Weekly)

The school council presented information to the school about macmillian.

The McMillan society, caring locally, was formed in 1974 to support palliative care for cancer patients, and careers and they support a range of post and services for cancer diagnosis treatment.

One in three of us will get cancer and it’s the toughest thing most of us will ever face.

They provide practical, medical and financial support and push for better cancer care. Cancer can be treated in different ways depending on what cancer it is, where it is in the body and if it has spread. Knowing more about what the treatments involve can help you be prepared for them and there possible side effects, and plan any questions you may want to ask.

Treatment can be given with the aim of curing cancer, controlling it or relieving symptoms.
