BEAM OPEN ON MONDAYS W.E.F. 9.2.2020

Just to remind you… Beam will be re-opening on Mondays in Wellington with effect from next week!

This means our usual weekly schedule will be back w/c 09.02.2020 as follows:

Mondays & Tuesdays @ Wellington: open 12pm; close 7pm.

First & third Wednesday of the month @ Ludlow Youth Centre: open 3.30pm; close 7pm

Thursdays @ Palmers, Shrewsbury: open 2pm; close 7pm.

Saturdays @ Wellington: open 11am; close 4pm.

We will not start any sessions within the last hour of opening – this means not after 6pm on a weeknight or 3pm on a Saturday.

Our up-to-date service leaflet is attached, along with our workshop calendar.

SERVICE CAPACITY – important info regarding early closures to Beam

We are managing how many sessions our practitioners are doing over the course of a drop-in.

Our team work really really hard to see as many of those who visit a drop-in session as possible and I cannot stress enough how determined the team is to give each young person a valuable experience at Beam, but in order to do this we need to carefully manage the volume of sessions being offered.

This is to ensure each young person receives a high-quality service from us, as well as ensuring our team’s welfare is maintained. This means we may take the decision to close the service earlier on some occasions, on the basis that we can have up to 5 drop-in sessions running across the week. When this happens, notices will be displayed.

Also, at times where all of our practitioners are in sessions and we have a number of people waiting to be seen, we will temporarily close the service, asking people to return later in the session or to a different session.

There are occasions where we are physically at capacity – something that is a particular issue on a Saturday at our Wellington venue.

We recognise the importance of young people being supported by those around them, whether that be friends or family, and we understand that accompanying young people to Beam sends a clear message of support. However, large groups can be difficult to accommodate within our venues, and we are asking that visitors to the service consider this before attending.

As always, should you have any queries, please do get in touch via AskBeam
