This is a very short quick half term, so we wanted to share some key dates, before a longer letter later this term.
Road
We have been selected to take part in the pilot for: A New School Journey Project
Soon we will be working with parents and children, to encourage more active journeys to/from school and reducing congestion, therefore improving air quality around school. Remember there are two massive car parks to the left and right of the school. Please park here and walk across.
We will also be looking at a Park and Stride route, and identifying some JRSOs – Junior Road Safety Officers.

Online safety
We continue to have breaches of social media rules, despite no child in school being older enough to use social media. Please take action to protect your child’s online life, by not allowing your child on social media- especially snap chat. I complete weekly assemblies on online safety, and there is more information on our website about keeping your child safe. We use the 4 Cs: The 4 Cs of online safety | NSPCC Learning

Friday 23rd February: Year 3 Telford Fire Station visit to school
Monday 26th and Tuesday 27th February: Year 5 and 6 Bikeabitiy. (I have booked more slots later in the year- as this is very popular)
Wednesday 28th February: Squash (for year 3 and 4)
Wednesday 28th February: Football Match Year ¾ girls semi-final.
Friday 8th March: World Book Day, mufti- dress up as your favourite book character.
Monday 11th Onwards- Big Walk and Wheel Event.
Wednesday 13th March and Thursday 14th March: Sugar Awareness lessons from Let’s Dine
Friday 15th March: Comic Relief Red nose day- Mufti.
Friday 15th March: Year 6 Parents and Carers SATS briefing: 2:15.
Friday 22nd March: 1:30pm Easter Singing Showcase and Poetry reading (Our Easter Concert) for all pupils.
Friday 22nd March: last day of term before Easter Holidays.
Further ahead:
Thursday 18th Evening and Friday 19th April afternoon: parents and carers. We will shut at 1:15 on the Friday 19th.
Monday 6th May: May Day School Closed
Week Beginning 13th May: Year 6 SATS Week
Friday 24th May: PD Day and then half term.

Keeping children safe parent workshop Telford and Wrekin
With more access than ever before to phones and other technology, it can be difficult to understand how to keep your child safe in an increasingly digital world.
The workshop is fully funded and will cover:
- What online harm is and online gang recruitment.
- Ways you can effectively help and support your children
- Understand why and how children can become victims
- How your response can support your child
- An award-winning approach to support young people at risk of exploitation
- Delivery by lived experienced professionals
