6W

From Monday 5th July, 6W will be able to return to school. They will be taught by Mrs Poyner and Mrs Davies (SEND). Some of the class have been told to isolate (following contact in the community) and they will need to remain at home until their isolation ends.

It is PE that day, so come in PE Kit. (We will have their sports day the week after)

As stated in letter yesterday, it is a very frustrations situation to be in, and we thank you for your understanding this week, and always.

If you or your family have any symptoms, please isolate and get tested.

I would also suggest the use of Lateral flow tests twice a week, you can pick up form most pharmacies. They are helping stop the spread.

6PD are due to return on Friday 9th July. We will have the Love and Remembrance Day on this day.

Thank you,

Mr Fox

Donation helps Telford school pupils kick start tree planting scheme

A Telford primary school have been given a helping hand with their latest gardening project – thanks to Morris Property and The Wrekin Housing Group.

The two local organisations have jointly donated a selection of gardening tools to Donnington Wood C of E Junior School, to help pupils transform their outdoor space.

The tools have been put to good use, with students planting 100 trees and creating a wildflower garden.

Martin James, Area Investment Manager for The Wrekin Housing Group said:

“It is a pleasure and a privilege to be able support Donnington Wood C of E Junior School as part of our plans to invest in the local area.

“Giving back to our communities is a vital part of the work we do and we are absolutely delighted to be able to support the school in this way. It’s great to see how passionate the pupils are about their outdoor space and we’re happy to help support their green-fingered efforts.”

Steve Flavell, Construction Manager at Morris Property added:

“We were impressed by the way the children have embraced this project and wanted to show that with practical help. We’re planning to build them a pergola this summer to enhance their garden even more. As a business working in local communities, we feel it is important to support young people’s environmental initiatives.”

Mr Fox, Headteacher at Donnington Wood C of E Junior School said:

“Our garden project has been a huge collective effort. All of our pupils have been hugely enthusiastic about the project and we hope that this encourages them to take responsibility and care for our school environment.

"Taking part in a project like this has taught our children not only the importance of looking after our green space, but also what we can achieve when we work together as a whole school community in this way.

“I would like to thank both Morris Property and The Wrekin Housing Group for their generous donation – it really has made a huge difference.”

The Wrekin Housing Group has formed a new partnership with Shrewsbury based Morris & Company Limited, who are currently developing Wrekin’s Leonard Close site in Donnington Telford.

This regeneration project will see the flats previously located at Leonard Close, replaced with 43 brand new, energy efficient homes. There will be a selection of 2- and 3-bedroom homes available for affordable rent, spring 2022.
