The value of next week is Thankfulness, so i am naming it in honour of Mr Bailey: Putting others first.
Mr. Bailey is the embodiment of everything good in our world, our community, and our school.
He has stood up for each and every one of us- keeping us safe, looking out for our wellbeing, and taking the time to make everyone feel seen, welcomed, and valued. Mr. Bailey has dedicated his life to service, and there is no greater honour than that.
He is not just our beloved caretaker of the school grounds—but the caretaker of all of us.
From Christmas productions to gritting the yard on freezing mornings, from keeping the lights on to keeping us safe during COVID—he was always there.
His care, commitment, and quiet strength are an inspiration. He leads by example, and it’s an example I hope to follow in my own life, and pass on to my children.
On a personal level, I can never truly thank him for what he’s given me: a constant champion for what is right, a steady hand, and a listening ear. I owe him more than words can say.
So in this final week—amid all the noise of what’s wrong in the world—please join me in recognising what is right.
Join me in thanking the man.
The legend.
Mr. Bailey.
The true hero of our school.
On Thursday please join us for the school fete and chance to thank Mr Bailey for all of his care, and on Friday the children will say a special thank you.
We will miss him (but are also trying to get him to stay)
