Refugee Week

This week is Refugee week and some of our learning has been to enhance our knowledge about refugees. On Wednesday, we welcomed Kariman Yakhoul from Shropshire supports Refugees into school who delivered a whole school assembly about what a refugee is and how we can support them.

Sports Day 27th June

Thursday 27th June: SCHOOL SPORTS DAY!
Time: 1:15 – 2:15 PM
Event Details:

  • Start Time: The event begins promptly at 1:15 PM, but you can join any time during the afternoon. We will parade out on to the field just before arrival.
  • Format: We will compete in a carousel format around the track. Look for signs indicating where each activity is, or continue around the track until you find your group. Year 3 start on the running track.
  • Track Guidelines: For safety, please stay outside the track perimeter. Do not enter the middle of the track area.

Safety Notice:

  • Discus and Javelin Areas: Maintain a safe distance from the discus and javelin areas, as these items can be thrown a considerable distance.
  • We have banned use of mobile phones on site. You may take photos of your child taking part, but these should not go onto social media. If you need to make a call please leave the field.

Competition:

  • House Cup: Although the event is for fun, we will award a house cup to the winning group based on our rainbow house colours.
  • House Colours: We will tell you your child’s House colour this week. (Please do not purchase anything new.)

    • Blue
    • Red
    • Green
    • Yellow

Children can wear their PE kit or something in their house colour, such as a hat or t-shirt.
Your child needs:

  • Please ensure your child brings a water bottle.
  • Weather: If the weather is hot, they will need a hat and should have sun lotion applied before arriving at school.

Parent Access:

  • Eco Garden Access: Due to our new Eco Garden, parents will access the field via the ramp, not by cutting across the new garden.
