School Open Friday 3rd March.

Dear Parents/Carers,

We are very sorry for the inconvenience caused this week due to the severe boiler breakdown. We take the decision to shut the school very seriously and only act when we cannot provide any alternative. On this occasion, presented with unexpected and total breakdown, of the heating and hot water, we had to shut the school. We immediately contacted the Heating Engineer, who was unable to fix the problem on Wednesday due to parts and the severity of the problem. On Thursday he was able to replace the parts and carry out major work to the pumps and pipes, fully testing the system to ensure that the chances of this happening again are diminished. Rest assured that we maintain and service all critical machinery in our school regularly and this breakdown was unexpected and unwanted.

Thank you for your continued support and we look forward to celebrating with you the many achievements that this term will bring.

We will still be celebrating World Book on Friday 3rd March as Planned.

Competition

The Parish Council is in the process of taking over the running of the library in Donnington.

There is a lot of building work going on in preparation and we are hoping to be able to extend the library’s current opening hours.

We are looking to commission a new sign for the library and would love to use a local child’s design.

There will be a prize for the winner and runner up.

Entries should be on a single sheet of A4 paper (portrait or landscape is fine)
